Com a elei\u00e7\u00e3o de Luiz In\u00e1cio Lula da Silva, foi nomeado subchefe para Assuntos Jur\u00eddicos da Casa Civil, onde trabalhou com o ent\u00e3o ministro Jos\u00e9 Dirceu. Posteriormente, assumiu a AGU (Advocacia Geral da Uni\u00e3o).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Depois da morte do ent\u00e3o ministro do STF Carlos Alberto Menezes Direito, Lula indicou Toffoli para integrar a Corte.
